Opportunities Open to You...
-Intercessory Prayer GroupEvery Thursday night at 7:00 PM, believers gather for a very special time of seeking God’s face together with other believers. Prayer requests are shared and time is given to seeking the face of God and interceding for those who need prayer the most. Sometimes it’s the individual himself; other times its those he loves. Either way, this has proven time and time again to be a very special time of communion with the Lord and with other brothers and sisters in Christ. One word of warning though… it’s quite addicting. Once you start, you may not ever want to quit. -WMU Circle Groups (for women only)Woman’s Missionary Union is an organization of Christian women who are missions-minded and action-oriented. The Basic purpose of the WMU is to promote and support missions. We have three WMU groups: 1) The Euva Bausam Group which meets on Tuesday afternoon after the 2nd Sunday at 2:00 p.m. 2) The Ethel Guest Group which meets on Monday night after the 2nd Sunday at 7:30 p.m. 3) The Doris Ashley Group which meets on Tuesday night after the 2nd Sunday at7:00 p.m.-Men’s Small Groups The Bible says “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” We believe God desires for His people to be strengthened, encouraged, and held accountable by one another. This is one reason we have developed several small groups for men that meet at different times during the week. If you would like to become involved in a small group of Christian men who are growing in Christ just contact Pastor Travis for times and details.-Young At Heart (for both men and women)The “Young at Heart” meets every fourth Saturday morning from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for a great time of fellowship. It has been doing this for over 20 years, and is attended by seniors from all across Martin County. The Senior Adult Ministry Team at West End enjoys providing this time of worship, entertainment, fun, and food. Door prizes are also given.-Homebound Ministry (for both men and women)One of the things that we believe very strongly here at WEBC is that the elderly of our church are just as important as the younger generations. This is why we created this ministry in an effort to stay in contact with and to assist if needed the senior members of our church who are no longer able to do everything for themselves. If you have the gifts of mercy and compassion and feel you may be able to serve in this ministry, just call the church office and we will get you more information.-Sunday SchoolSunday school is a wonderful opportunity for small group Bible study and discussion in a very casual and relaxed environment. We have Sunday school classes for a wide variety of ages, from toddlers to seniors. Sunday school classes meet every Sunday morning from 9:45am to 10:45 am. Our classes are also diversified by gender; there are men’s classes, women’s classes, and co-ed classes. Try one class one Sunday, try a different one the next… the choice is completely up to you!-WorshipThe worship ministry at West End Baptist Church seeks to be God-centered and Christ-exalting. It is only through Jesus Christ that we are able to commune with Almighty God, so in corporate worship we must focus on and make much of Christ! Corporate worship is when the church worships together as the one body of Christ. Worship, however, encompasses far more than what the gathered body does on Sunday mornings or evenings. Worship is the lifestyle of adoration and submission to God that is manifested in our daily lives. An effective worship service is one in which the things that are done by the gathered body (reading of the Scriptures, singing, preaching of the Word, prayer, baptism, the Lord's supper, and more) are done "in spirit and truth" (John 4:23). To worship in Spirit means to worship with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. To worship in truth means to worship in full harmony with God’s revealed Word.

Becoming a Member...
At West End Baptist Church, we place a great emphasis on church membership. We believe from the Bible, that it is God’s plan and desire for every born again Christian to be an active member in a local church body. Not only does this strengthen the church body as a whole, but there are many blessings and benefits for each individual member as well. Also, we believe that our God is glorified to a much greater degree in the eyes of the world, as they see the unity and harmony in the local church. We believe the Lord is doing a wonderful work here at West End, and we are excited about the future. We would love for you to be part of it. So, if you’re looking for a spiritual family that will absolutely be a blessing in your life, we hope you will prayerfully consider becoming a member of West End Baptist Church.Starting the Process…Becoming a member of West End Baptist Church is a relatively simple process. There are basically two ways it can be started: 1) The first and best way is for the individual to simply contact the church office or the Pastor to set up an appointment for a meeting, which can occur in the office or in the person’s home.In this meeting, the individual and/or family will get a chance to meet the Pastor and learn more about the beliefs, ministries, and mission of the church. This meeting will also give the Pastor the opportunity to get to know the individual and/or family, and to make sure that all pertinent issues like salvation and baptism are in order.2) The second way this process can be started is by simply coming forward during the “Invitational Hymn” at the close of any regular worship service. At which time, the person and/or family can be introduced to the church body by the Pastor, along with their intention to join. However, before an actual vote of the church can be taken to receive the individual and/or family, a meeting with the Pastor will have to scheduled and completed.
